LUSH MASK OF MAGNAMINTY REVIEW

LUSH needs no introduction, I Believe..!

WHAT LUSH CLAIMS ABOUT MASK OF MAGNAMINTY

Deep cleansing, minty face and back pack. Do you ever feel so grubby you think you'll never get clean again? After an overnight flight, a marathon in a rabbit suit or a walk along the Marylebone Road during rush hour, do you feel a deep need to be scrubbed clean? Here's a cleansing mask to do exactly that, with china clay and bentonite gel to suck the dirt out of your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds to exfoliate away your mucky, surface skin cells and loads of peppermint oil to make you feel so clean, fresh and minty that you'll forget you were ever grubby.

PRICE- INR 440 for 125 gms & 900 for 315 gms

I couldn't find the complete list of Ingredients on the official Lush Website, So here s what the package reads

PACKAGING
The Mask comes in a wide mouthed, round, black colored, sturdy, plastic jar like most Lush products. ( and if you take back 5 such empty jars to Lush , they give you a fresh face mask free :D )

   SWATCH

 MY VERDICT ON THE PRODUCT
I picked up this Magnaminty mask in August, shopping with Jinal, from Mumbai's Lush Store @ phoenix mills mall. I have to tell you that they have the most inimical & inhospitable  SAs there . So, Jinal and I went around the store checking products ourselves and on random I picked up this mask & Jinal picked Love lettuce , since we badly wanted to buy something from there
Coming to the mask, true to its name, its an overdose of mint and my face feels super cooled off when I have this on. While the lush website suggests this is a cleanser, but I use it like a normal mask. I scoop out some quantity (the amount I have shown in the swatch picture), let it stay on my face for about 5 minutes till it dries.
It leaves my face clean and completely cooled off like I mentioned. It also has these small scrub particles, so I prefer to scrub/massage it lightly and not just remove it off with water. I notice some reduction in appearance of pores around my nose & cheeks along with a slight glow.
This mask/cleanser would be an excellent product for hot summers, but probably not for this time of the year when Winters are just about to arrive.
I have slight oily, sensitive skin and this suits me well. Dry skinned beauties will have to moisturize well after using it though.
Well, its a good ,cooling mask basically & I like it a lot but not something that can deal with your skin issues like acne etc. At the moment I am going to finish this jar soon as I was directed that it should be used up within 6 months. I will get a refill of this only after May in summers.
Have you used Mask on Magnminty by Lush ? Let me know your thoughts about it .

HOW TO HANDLE HOLI AFTERMATH

Smearing gulal and splashing each other with colours – We  love doing all this on Holi. But amidst the fun and frolic, we should not forget to follow up with proper skin care to protect our skin and hair from the chemicals present in the colours.

Cleaning the skin and hair finally of all the colours is the most important aspect. Do not rub the skin vigorously with soaps to wipe the face of gulal but, instead, opt for a cleanser. Follow this up with lots of moisturiser, specially ones that are meant for sensitive skin.
or you can do the following easy things too=

  • To remove colour ,replenish & rejuvenate the skin use a paste of soyabean flour or besan with milk.
  • A mixture of sea salt, glycerine and a few drops of aroma oil have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effect and can take care of the bad effects of chemical colours.
  • If colours don't come off in the first wash, rub warm olive oil and lemon juice generously over skin, leave for an hour and bathe again.
  • Some good natural colour removers are vinegar, mustard oil, curd, soapnut (reetha) extract.
  • Use plenty of conditioner after shampooing.
  • Load on the moisturiser generously, after bathing.
  •  For irritated skin or minor rashes, apply a mixture of calamine lotion with a few drops of mometasone lotion (example: Elocon lotion). Apply an ice pack on the irritated skin. If the condition persists, go to a dermatologist.
  • If you have acne, wash your face clean with Cetaphil cleanser and apply an antibiotic gel like Clindamycin gel.
  • If you suffer from dandruff, prevent on acute attack by shampooing with your usual anti-dandruff shampoo, then rubbing in a few drops of lemon juice and oil or a few drops of Candid-B lotion.

Hope these little tips are of some use to you...
please share if you have some other tips too...
& if you are real lazy to do all this at home, visit your friendly neighbourhood saloon and get pampered..
 :)

DIVYA KANTILEP

" DIVYA KANTILEP "

My good friend prachi, asked me today whether I have some experience About this DIVYA KANTI LEP from Ramdev baba's divya pharmacy range. I suddenly realised I bought it a few months back and have used it just once till date. Thankyou Prachi, for reminding me about it :) I dedicate this post to you sweetheart :)

What the product claims,?
Ayurvedic Propreitary medicine, It is useful in Acne, vulgaris and skin disorders
Click HERE to check their official site .

COMPOSITION, each 50 gm contains :

This is how this Divya kantilep looks like (dry form)

I took around two spoon full quantity and mixed with some rose water, although nothing has been mentioned on the pack as such.

* It looks soooo much like henna/mehendi naa? Infact, its first main ingredient is mehendi beej (Lawsonia inermis

MY EXPERIENCE WITH " DIVYA KANTI LEP "

THE first major thing I noticed  is that it extremely cooling on the face. The texture is a bit grainy and not really fine/smooth. You can easily apply it with your fingers though. It has more of mask like feel and does not give that  stretchy feel like usual face packs. The smell is very herbal like and not really pleasing. It does not dry completely, so I washed it off withing 15 minutes. I had a tiny eruption on my face before I applied it, and I notice it has reduced just a bit . My face looks fresh and clear , but not really glowing :(

Now, summing its pro s and cons

Pros
  • very apt for oily/acne skin
  • Has super cooling effect on the facial skin
  • Ayurvedic product with all natural ingredients
  • price is extremely cheap, cant get cheaper at Rs. 30 for 50 gm of Qty.
Cons
  • strips off moisture from the skin, so dry skinned beauties may find it unimpressive
    • It leaves behind a deep yellow caste on the face, so it cant be used as your instant quick fix pack. I generally
      • use it before sleeping, so that I dont need to step out with that jaundice striken look :P

  • This is available only at particular divya pharmacy shops and not retailed everywhere.
  • The package is in simple plastic jar.
On the whole, I found it decent just because of the whole ayurvedic/natural angle it has. At the price, I think one should Give it a shot.
